Dear Leon:
What a great show last night at the Count Basie in Red Bank!! Come and see us soon at BBKings!! Best regards, Patrick Gaffney |

Red Bank NJ - Your voice filled the Count Basie Theatre tonight in a way that no record or CD can deliver. It was a thrill and a privilege to hear those familiar songs in person. The time you spent face to face with the audience after the band left the stage was intimate and genuine. Wow.

I'm watching the documentary "The Union", of the collaboration between Leon and Elton John. It has touched me so! It's transported me back to friends and times long gone. I've smiled and been deeply touched. It's January 16, 2013 and you just appeared in Boston. I'm sorry I missed you. I can only hope we each come this way again. Thank you, Mr. Russell for all the great times!

Dear Leon
Today i had the privilege to show your music to my 20 year old daugther. We had a wonderful time together, surfing into your early and recent music. I´m very happy to say that you have a new fan. Al the best !! |

I feel honored to have shared time with you in this life. You have touched me during the good times and the bad. Those lonely Greyhound rides, my forehead on the cold glass softly singing, "Stray dogs that live on the highway walk on three legs. Learn to slow to get the message." Hugging the bottom of a fox hole while the shit hit the fan, taking myself far away from there, lost in lyric after lyric. Thank you for all that and much more. I am the man I am partly as a result of your music. Thank you from the bottom of my heart..........

Dear Mr. Leon Russell,
I want declare my love and respect for your music! I follow you since the '60 and I love your music till now. Please listen to me a suggestion: why don't you organize a celebration concert of your career? You could invite: Bob Dylan, J.J. Cale, Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker, Bobby Whitlock, Willie Nelson, Ringo Starr, B.B. King, Elton John, Dave Mason, etc. and celebrate with a double live CD + DVD your fantastic musical career! The project I have in my mind is similar to "Bob Dylan 30th Anniversary Concert Celebration" or "Soul of a Man: Live" of Al Kooper. I think that many your fans'll be glad to see the realization of this celebration! Thanks in advance for your attention. Best regards, Stefano |
