Leon..a great musician and an entertainer
Loved his whole vibe and even the Hank thing and the duet with e.j.
You are sorely missed.
God bless.

I am also in total denial. I can't believe I won't see Leon Live. Saw him approximately 50 times and wished for 50 more. My idol, forever and ever.

I, too have been in denial since November 13, 2016. A great loss with Mr. Leon Russell's passing.

Through the years, I look back on the wonderful concerts I attended: Conroe, TX; Dawgs and Hawgs concert, Henderson, TX; Gruene Hall, New Braunfels, TX; and Nutty Jerry's, Winnie, Tx.

To have had the chance to see Mr. Russell are loving memories I will cherish. The many photos, I took. The many autographs he gave me (including the one where he drew a caricature on the album cover where he was just having fun).

Thank you, Mr. Russell.

The beauty of your songs.

Thank you, Mr. Russell.

The joy you gave all your devoted Lifer fans.

Thank you, Mr. Russell.

Rest in peace, Mr. Leon Claude Russell Bridges.

Rest in peace.

*****************

They don't make 'em like they used to, those guys
And I can't get used to the way that it is today
No one to look up to, hard times and though I try
I just can't find the reason these days

And it seems like the seasons are passing me
They're going by, nothing to hold on to, rough times
And it goes on, so count on me and I'll count on you
You can lean on me, two of us stronger

We won't be alone any longer
Now and for always we will be good friends
Count on me, into any storm, we're gonna survive it
Into any fire, we'll carry on

Know that one day you and me will both be old friends
And we'll sit on the sofa and talk about how
They don't make 'em like they used to, you'll see
As time goes on, so count on me and I'll count on you

In a world like this, when nothing is sure
And people are afraid, Ill be here for
Now and for always we will be good friends
Count on me, they don't make it now like they used to

They're not gonna last like you and me, I'll be there
Oh, always we will be, year by year
Depend on me, into any storm
We're gonna survive it

Into any fire, just count on me, I'll be there
Oh, tough guys, you and me, year by year
They will see, they don't make it now like they used to
They're not gonna last like you and me.

I guess I have been in denial, keep remembering past shows, Charlotte 72, Norfolk 74?, Charlotte again with Skynrd & ZZtop, loved Bangaladesh, seen it 100 times, always respected the man, saw him at a small bar in Fla & in Ga in recent years, will always remember the man as long as I have a breath in me. One of the greatest......

The Rock Legends Cruise that Leon was booked on is coming up on the 19th. I am going with a heavy heart. Was so looking forward to it. I really think there should be a tribute to him on this cruise! The world is just not the same knowing he is gone! His music lives on! RIP Leon! Will be missing you forever! My condolences to his family again.

Leon has been a part of the soundtrack of our lives for decades. His physical body may be at rest but his spiritual being is still among us and will be for years to come through his music. Thank you Leon!

I have loved Leon from the time I was a young teen listening to my brother's albums.I was so glad to see his show in 2016 at the Beachland Ballroom,Cleveland,Ohio.I sat in the second row and was moved to tears when he sang "His eye is on the sparrow",having no idea almost one year exactly to the day he would be gone.

I have been listening to Leon since 1971. All I can say is that my life has been blessed and enriched by his music. Some of my major life moments have been forever marked by his many incredible songs. I know he will always be rockin out where ever he is in his after life. May he Rest In Peace!

Knowing that Leon Russell passed away at home, not in a hospital hooked up to machines, gives me some solace. Perhaps that is all we can really hope for; to be with our loved ones when our time comes. How many of us started playing the piano because we were inspired by Leon Russell ? I shall let my hair grow long and gray, and in my heart I will wear a top hat, and think of seeing Leon perform so many years ago. Thank you, to the Bridges family, for sharing Leon Russell with the world.

Leon is alive in my speakers. We rode to work together this morning. I'm grateful it's a long drive.

I agree, the world is lonely and empty without Leon. The day the music died......Merry Christmas to all Leon's family. I know the first holidays are always the toughest without our loved ones. God bless you all.

I bought my my 1st "rock and roll" piano book when I was 11 at the Highway House of Music in Ukiah. It was Leon Russel. I am now a radio announcer of 35 years. Thank you Leon - thank you for all you gave me. "A Song for You" says it all.
