I have been listening to Leon since 1971. All I can say is that my life has been blessed and enriched by his music. Some of my major life moments have been forever marked by his many incredible songs. I know he will always be rockin out where ever he is in his after life. May he Rest In Peace!

Knowing that Leon Russell passed away at home, not in a hospital hooked up to machines, gives me some solace. Perhaps that is all we can really hope for; to be with our loved ones when our time comes. How many of us started playing the piano because we were inspired by Leon Russell ? I shall let my hair grow long and gray, and in my heart I will wear a top hat, and think of seeing Leon perform so many years ago. Thank you, to the Bridges family, for sharing Leon Russell with the world.

Leon is alive in my speakers. We rode to work together this morning. I'm grateful it's a long drive.

I agree, the world is lonely and empty without Leon. The day the music died......Merry Christmas to all Leon's family. I know the first holidays are always the toughest without our loved ones. God bless you all.

I bought my my 1st "rock and roll" piano book when I was 11 at the Highway House of Music in Ukiah. It was Leon Russel. I am now a radio announcer of 35 years. Thank you Leon - thank you for all you gave me. "A Song for You" says it all.

The first time I saw Leon was in 1973. We went to see his opening band ZZ Top, I had never heard of Leon Russell. Leon blew me away. I've been a fan ever since.

I really miss him. I also loved his song "Tightrope" and I know that this is one of his earlier songs but I was amazed by his free spirit when singing it.

I started listening to Leon Russell since I first heard him when I was in Viet Nam.He healped me through many a sleepless night.I got deeper into his music in the following years. I was deeply aggrieved and I will truly miss his music I never met the man and I truly regret it Live on Leon.

Though not prone to "Hero Worship" and really just a crazy obsessive Music Fan,
I am really going to miss the "Master of Space and Time". All in all, I caught about 8 various Leon appearances starting in the early 70's...and consider them amongst the top performances I've ever seen. His songwriting is phenominal and I really loved his unique vocalising.
RIP.LEON--You are the epitome of what Americana Music is all about, and you will be very seriously missed.I know you had faced up to great physical npain for years and now the Lord has called you home. You will be extremely missed, back here on the Planet. It is no exageration to say that you really were the best. RIP.Brother, RIP.

I first saw Leon in 1973 in South Bend. Wow I was hooked! Saw him again every chance I got. He was just too wonderful for words. I had him on 8 track, albums, cassettes and now cds. What a loss for the world. Now the heavens have the master. Rest in Peace dear sweet Leon.

It is so very sad that we have lost Leon Russell, and my heart goes out to his family. I find some solace in the fact that he passed away at home, instead of in a hospital hooked up to machines and tubes.

I will always cherish his music, and I am thankful for having seen him perform many years ago. Today I heard one of his songs on the radio and had to pull over because I was crying and could not see to drive.

Leon will live on in our hearts and I want to thank his family for inspiring him to make music that the whole world knows ( Masquerade, Superstar, the list goes on).

Thank you, for sharing your awesome dad, husband, son, with the world. He brought humanity to music and was class without the superiority.

I just found out today - I was away from where there was no news... From the early 70's I've been a fan and last, I saw you play was last summer in PA.

I am truly sad... R.I.P.

What a loss, losing Leon. A void that can never be filled in music forever. Certainly hope to see the album "Solid State" released on CD soon, that would complete my entire collection. Any Chance?
