Well now, I've just been to the show at Niagara. Sometimes, it has been the case that the combination of old memories and eager anticipation has gotten the better of me and I've been left feeling a bit let down when a performer that I admire is no longer at the top of his game. From the moment that you stepped on the stage I knew that this was not going to be one of those times. From the hard-driving rock and roll, through the subtle solos, the witty and charming anecdotes and the overarching virtuosity of musicianship, it was truly a special night. After the show I wanted to run to catch a glimpse of you and perhaps say hello but I thought better of it, knowing that you had already given enough and besides, what could I say? Instead I bought some CDs and a hat, sipped a glass of wine, then slowly made my way outside. There was still a clutch of people patiently waiting for autographs and I walked past them and approached the door where the security guard was supervising things. He cast me a stern look as I reached out my arm but when I said, "It's OK, I just want to touch the bus," a little chuckle passed through the group and he didn't interfere as I gave the bus a little pat. I hope you slept well and had a good trip home. Thanks always Sir Leon.

Wow. I am 55 years old, and wish I had been turned on to you and your music years ago.. I have always liked your style, but my husband and I saw you last night at the Niagara Falls hotel and casino,and it just blew me away. Then we saw the video w/ you and Elton John and I am so in love with both of you. We bought 2 cds and a shirt last night and you autographed all of them, which I will treasure all of my days. As Merl Saunders used to say,"keep on keepin on"... <3

Hey Leon and booking agency - every 4th of July Bank of the West hosts a free concert. We've had 40-50,000 people show up for this. I think you should throw your tophat into the ring and come out to Omaha and play for us. I'll get you a date but it is the first weekend before the 4th and Leon, you'd be perfect. We've heard the Beach Boys, Kansas, Huey Lewis, The Righteous Brothers, Styxx, Foreigner, etc.. I would love to see LEON RUSSELL there!

Only 12 days until Niagara Falls! I'm delighted to see that you will also be at the Montreal Jazz Fest this year. That means I'll get to see you at least twice in 2013!!

I have been listening to Leon for over 40 some years. Leon was introduced to me by my older brother as was all the good music. Thank goodness for my brother. I absolutely love his music his style and the memories it brings to me.

I saw some Utube with Uncle Claudius and Ambrose on the GrassGourd from years ago. Looked to me like HankW was having time of his life....From the "High horse" era.
I think I want to buy a grassgourd and make a "Music From the Hearts of Grace" (or maybe .."from the Hears of Grass") record and see if they will play it on "Hearts of Space" on NPR Sunday night. Only with the blessing of Russell and Shuger though.

Sitting here listening to one of my all time favorite records ...Willie and Leon One for the Road:) It would be AMAZING if you two reunited for a tour...but beyond that! You have not come to Michigan in too long! Please come see us! I miss the days of you playing the Magic Bag in Ferndale. My pops and I NEVER missed a show. My dad got to meet you briefly. He slipped into the back ally while I was holding our spot in line. You called him "young man." He was on cloud 9! Lots of love Leon! You are greatly missed!

My good friend Lenny Carlucci turned me on to Leon Live somewhere back in the mid 70's. I've been hooked ever since! Love your music Leon...so much soul, unique and powerful vocals, amazing keyboard player. Caught your show in Ft. Lauderdale a year or so ago and loved every minute! Hope you'll come back to SO FLA again soon. I recall the great intro by George Harrison at the Bangledesh concert...couple a numbers from Leon. Keep on rockin brother. God Bless you.

I saw the HBO special about the making of The Union. As a teenager, I listened to Leon Russell all the time. But sad to say over time I too had forgotten about the great Leon Russell-until the HBO special. I was re-introduced to an all time great and was happy to have re-met you. You inspired me enough to buy The Union CD and I love your work. I intend to collect all your music. Thanks for re-reminding me of my memories. Good Luck to you and if you could ever make it to Denver I would love to see you and your band perform in person.
